The USCA union representing Spain's air traffic controllers reached an preliminary accord with management on Friday, averting the possibility of a strike.
The agreement ends five months of often acrimonious negotiations and paves the way for a new contract between the USCA and the state-owned company that runs Spanish airports, AENA.
While some points remain to be hashed out, USCA spokesperson Cesar Cabo said the pending issues would not hold up a signing ceremony set for late Friday.
