Increased Security Measures for International Flights into the United States
Date
09-01-2010
As a result of a failed act of terrorism on 25 December 2009, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) increased security measures at airports, effective 4 January 2010.
Security checkpoint requirements for passengers departing from U.S. airports have not changed, and these passengers do not need to prepare differently for their upcoming flights.
However, additional security measures have been put in place for last-point-of-departure international flights to the United States – these measures vary by airport, but passengers may be subject to increased screening at the gate.
